so, the major points over the past couple of months are pretty much as follows:
-got a job as a nanny, full time
-spent time with family and friends
-went to warped tour[:
yep, my ass went to warped tour 2014 in tinley park on saturday, 07/19/14! first warped tour or music festival EVER[:
the entire day was amazeballs! i got to see Icon For Hire, Real Friends, Yellowcard, We The Kings, State Champs, and more! this was an experience of a lifetime for me and couldnt have been happier once the day was over.
a couple of things i wasnt too happy about: the website said that there were water refilling stations. stationS. plural. they only had one. and it closed down 3 hours before the end of the day. NOT COOL. my suggestion would be to have 2 water stations, one on either side of the venue. if they can only have them open for 7/8 hours at a time, have one stay from 11-6 and the other from 2-9. makes sense! there would be less crowding at each station and they would have the entire day covered. when a venue charges $3 per bottle of water, those last 3 hours can be crucial to some people.
another thing on the website said that there were misting areas and a giant inflatable water slide. um, obviously not at every tour date location. these things were NOT at tinley.
something i didnt plan on while enjoying a set was getting kicked in the head and jaw. i understand moshing and crowd surfing happens, but when the security pulls you down, go back to where you were. climbing onto the barricades and jumping over a group of girls to go surfing again is not the best idea. my sister, her friend and i were enjoying a bands set and some guy, a roughly 21 year old 5'11" semi-muscular guy, climbed onto the barricades in front of us and 'superman'ed himself over us. FAIL. he landed on top of us and 2 other tiny girls. me and my sister both got kicked in the head, me again in the jaw and her again on the shoulder. not sure if he hurt anyone else. but please, for the love of god, LOOK BEFORE YOU JUMP! dont jump over a bunch of girls with no guys near them. not all girls lift, bro.
Other than that, i have no complaints. it was a spectacular day with a bunch of wonderful and badass bands playing their hearts out. got to see some favorites play, got a few new bands to listen to, and helped support some local bands in the process. well worth the money and pain in my legs and head. oh, here are a few pics[:
the giant schedule! had a surprise change in sets. A Day To Remember made a surprise performance on the Kia Soul Stage. EPIC!
